I have always been a bit of an equipment geek.
But at a certain point, it became the top 1 priority when working with dogs, or even to any person who handles dogs in any way.
My focus on dog equipment started when my visits to dog shelters became more regular and I was more attentive to the type of equipment that other workers and volunteers would use with not very stable rescued dogs, which was not appropriate and many times not safe.
This focus grew even further when I started to handle bigger and stronger dogs and I felt many times that certain equipment was somehow impacting my confidence to be with these dogs.
