Here is a video of my training session last week with the big and sweet Harris.
I posted about Harris before, but if you have not seen it I will give you a short introduction.
Harris was attacked by 3 dogs when he was a young pup and became reactive to other dogs.
Meanwhile, he was seeing a trainer who used force, intimidation and dominance-based approaches to “solve it”.
By the end of the “training”, the “trainer” advised Harris’ mom to use an electric shock collar to “zap the reactivity out of him”, which means, torture him until he would not react to other dogs.
His mom rejected it and luckily got in touch with me.
Here we are starting, but certainly, we already see things moving in the right direction, using only positive training approaches.
WATCH OUT FOR ANYBODY WHO WILL ADVISE YOU TO TRAIN OR EDUCATE YOUR DOG WITH SLIP LEADS, CHOKE CHAINS, PRONG COLLARS AND ELECTRONIC SHOCK COLLARS. THESE ARE TOOLS OF TORTURE AND NOT TRAINING.
